Company Introduction

Troupe Squid was founded in 2009 by writer-director Mi-young Oh and producer Jun-seok Oh in an attempt to create and produce diverse styles of performances where music and the theater meet. The troupe is willing to cooperate and coehist with its creators, designers and actors, regarding them not just as its members but as family. Rather than focusing on ’star casting’ or ’ star marketing,’ the troupe is striving to make its own unique performances with its own styles and principles. The troup would like to stage toucing experiences from everyday stories to share them with the audience.

Performance Detail

Two old ladies (Park Bok-nyeo and Ji hwa-ja) start living together unexpectedly. The performance quietly touches our heart with this simple but profound story of their shared life. Impressed by the performance, Korean singer Hee-eun Yang sang its theme song "You Are Still Pretty" with her sister Hee-kyung Yang and added it to her album.

Synopsis

Park Bok-nyeo lives with Mong, Nyang and Kko. One day, Ji Hwa-ja comes to her house. Saying that it is her son’s house, Ji Hwa-ja starts arguing with Park Bok-nyeo who finally suggests looking for Ji Hwa-ja’s son. As they go around to visit a district office, post office, mobile phone store, police station and photo studio, they become close to each other. Park Bok-nyeo then makes another suggestion to Ji Hwa-ja, saying, "You have nowhere to go. Let’s live together."
