Performance Detail
Based on the true story about the music and life of the late Kim Kwang-seok and his band Dongmulwon, this jukebox musical containes memories and sensibi Dongmulwon is a jukebox musical that contains memories, sensibilities and melodies of 1988.
Kim Chang-gi, who used to be a member of Dongmulwon and psychiatrist, visits the band’s old studio full of fond memories. Is the day when his best friend Kim Kwang-seok passed away. He is now 40 but his friend would be remembered as a young man in his 30’s forever. He then reminisces about his friend, his music and the past days when the band members got together.
In 1988, tje precious friend Kwang-seok, Chang-gi, Gi-yeong, Jun-yeol and Kyung-chan records their songs in a demo tape in the name of Dongmulwon (meaning "zoo" in Korean). Their songs become popular unexpectedly and Dongmulwon is then known as a band representing Korea’s folk music. Later on, the band is about to finish recording their second album which reaffirmed their staus as musicians. Kwang-seok wants to continue their musical activities while the other members want to take a break for a while. The members then argue with each other and Kwang-seok ends up leaving the band.
