The 45th Cheoyong Culture Festival -2011 Ulsan World Music Festival

Cheoyong Culture Festival is the most representative festival of Ulsan Metropolitan City, it started as Labour Festival in 1967 and changed the name to Cheoyong Culture Festival in 1991, which will be the 45th edition this year. 

Over a thousand years of the history from United Silla dynasty, Cheoyong-mu (Dance) and Cheoyong-ga (Poem) has become very special culture of Korea.

In September 2009, Cheoyong-mu (Dance) was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. This remined us how special our traditional culture is and it is important for us to create opportunities to experience Cheoyong mu during the Cheoyong Culture Festival. I expect that visitors will enjoy not only Cheoyong mu but there will be more opportunities to experience Korean culture at Cheoyong Lounge as well. 

Since 2007, Ulsan World Music Festival has brought music and dance from all over the world under the slogan of ''Cheoyong Welcomes the World''. This year Spain will be presented as our Guest of Honour and I am sure that the festival will make another successful year.
