Project WAE is a project group formed in 2010 by young actors and dancers. The group’s basic principle is to always keep in mind the question “Why the exterior?” and the answer to it. Its first project was the European tour of the performance NalBoa produced in collaboration with France’s street dance company Exnihilo. Since then, the Group has danced on the street actively. The Group has met diverse audiences through performances depicting modern people’s life that are presented in a variety of daily spaces: alley in the Seun shopping area, stairs at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, 284 Cafe at Seoul Station, Dongdaemun Design Plaza, COEX mall, Understand Avenue, Seoullo 7017, Post Territory Ujeongguk, Mullae Ironworks, Mugyo-ro and Sejong-daero. They also make site-specific street performances with their dynamic dance on streets and in numerous specific spaces, by means of community work at festivals and multinational collaboration.
