Company Introduction
Visual Theater CCOT is a performing arts group pursuing visual theater, a genre combining the visual arts and performing arts. Since its founding in 2000 by Cheol-seong Lee and Jin-young Kim who were studying at the School of Visual Theater in Jerusalem, Israel, the Company has been active globally. They combine materials of the visual arts, theater and music in order to make works exploring the depth of life. They have also made efforts to transform daily life (including streets and daily spaces) into art space.
Director Cheol-seong Lee first made his debut as a poet and wrote two collections of poems published by Moonji Publishing. Afterward, he began to serve as the director of Visual Theater CCOT and art experience space CCOTBAT and presented performances globally, winning numerous awards including the Outstanding Visual Directing prize.

Performance Detail
You are as vulnerable as paper... It is time for you to hug yourself!
With those from Korea, Spain, the UK, Russia and Poland!
And with all global citizens, this citizen community performance Massager takes shape!
This is a art therapy performance combining an installation and performance!
Trained as street massagers through a workshop, citizen performers serve citizens on the street by covering them with paper and providing them with special paper massage. This results in ’paper humans’ in the shape of their bodies. The paper humans become alive and perform an emotional drama with the real citiznes before diasappearing through the wind, water and fire. This special performance leads all participants to embrace their vulnerability and to reflect on the meaning of such vulnerability.
