Company Introduction

The Tune consists of four female musicians, including vocals, traditional Korean and other forms of percussions, haegeum, and keyboards. The Tune creates an intriguing acoustic sound by combining traditional Korean instruments with Middle Eastern instruments, keyboards and vocals. They freely transcend the boundaries of gugak, jazz, contemporary and gypsy music. Though rooted in gugak, the band is not bound by tradition and undertakes bold experiments, even while holding on to the beauty of tradition. This provocative balancing act creates an uncanny aura in The Tune’s performances.
