Donhwamun Gugak Center
|
The Seoul Donhwamun Gugak Center, named after Donhwamun, the face of Changdeokgung Palace, purchased a gas station site across from Changdeokgung Palace and established it as a concert hall dedicated to Korean traditional music, and is currently run by the Sejong Center for Performing Arts. The concert hall, which is a mix of traditional hanok and modern architecture styles, consists of an indoor concert hall where visitors can enjoy Gugak with natural sounds and a Gugak madang for outdoor performances, allowing the audience to breathe with performers and easily experience the beauty of our tradition. It is contributing to promoting the beauty of Korean art through its own planned and produced performances and collaboration with private performing arts organizations. |
