Seoul International Choreography Festival (SCF)

Seoul International Choreography Festival(SCF), launched in 1992, is one of the ideal programs designed by the Modern Dance Promotion. Since it was founded in 1985, the Modern Dance Promotion of Korea has focused on developing international exchange programs through dance art and SCF has achieved its original goals producing highly creative and inspired choreographers.
SCF, initiated as Seoul Platform for Rencontres choregraphiques internationales de Bagnolet, France in 1992, has taken bold steps with new title of "Korea Choreography Festival" (1994) followed by Seoul International Choreography Festival of today. SCF, in particular, has made remarkable progress since it was extended as international festival in 2008. Since then, 87 choreographers from 9 countries could have ample opportunities to present their dance works at international stages. Considering the number of contestants and stages by the selected choreographers, contribution achieved by SCF is enormous which goes beyond capacity of private institute.
