The National Changgeuk Company of Korea was established in 1962 as a part of the National Theater of Korea, and it has been presenting traditional Korean opera, changgeuk for the past ve decades. The Company has been recreating the ve surviving stories of pansori (Shimcheong-ga, Chunhyang-ga, Heungboga, Sugung-ga, and Jeokbyeok-ga) into changgeuk while cherising the traditional Korean musical storytelling style and earning the national acclaim for its restoration and revival of the legacy of Korean literature.
