Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theatre

The first musical theater in Korea, established in 1961, the Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theatre is a professional musical group with the longest history and richest tradition in the history of the Korean musical. It has contributed greatly to discovering creative plays and to opening a new horizon of creative musicals in Korea. It has performed international musicals considered excellent for artistry and quality to introduce international culture. In addition, it infuses dreams and hopes into children by producing children’s musicals.
The Seoul Metropolitan Musical Theatre, actively heralding the excellence of Korean traditional culture in musicals while continuing to making efforts to create astageart full of Korean romanticism and humor,was a front runner of the Korean musical in the early days and has taken the lead in the development of Korean musicals by selecting talented members and training and sending the mout as musical actors at a time when there weren’t any professional institutes for musicals. It has play edits role to the fullest by garnering awards at the Korea Musical Awards more than five times.
