The Busan International Rock Festival was first held back in 1999 when it was known as ‘Asian Rock Festival’. In 2000 it was rebranded as The Busan International Rock Festival and now, in its 20th year has become one of Korea’s longest running and most dynamic festivals. The event takes place at Samrak Eco-Park (in Sasang-gu) and features an eclectic lineup of the best up and coming artists / headliners from Korea and around the world. The Busan International Rock Festival also promotes artist development through long established exchange programs with international festivals across asia.
As one of the leading music festivals in Korea, the festival represents the openness, youth, and coastal city characteristics of Busan. The festival is organized with the goals of discovering new musical contents, revitalizing the music industry in Busan, and celebrating indie bands.
