Theatre Group Seongbukdong Beedoolkee(dove) was organized in 2005, with young artists who dreamed of revaluating the spirit of the pure theatricality. Since then it continues various experimental practices to present new contemporary theatre culture. It not only tries to newly interpret classical plays but also to expand the artistic horizon of the theatrical possibilities by experimenting with different forms of performing. It opened Theatre Lab ILSANGJIHA in 2010, in Seong-buk dong where the doves survive through the waves of modern urbanization, which is analogous to the pure theatre that survives from the commercialization and standardization of today’’s theatre society.
