Dance (LKD), a contemporary dance company, was founded by choreographer Lee Kyung-eun in 2002 and its members are reputed for tough training and expression as well as open spirit, precise interpretation and challenging experiments. Featuring of original choreography, explosive energy, purity and challenging spirit, LKD has been received by critics and audience as a dance company equipped with artistry as well as popularity. Artistic Director LEE Kyung-eun
LEE Kyung-eun studied contemporary dance, ballet, Korean traditional dance, Japanese traditional dance Noh, and Pilates. She is physically solid and her jovial and contemplative character is well reflected in her works. She was one of the three choreographers selected at the ‘ 2nd Grand Atelier’ by the Royaumont Foundation and won the First choreography Prize at the ‘ 8th International Solo-Tanz-Theatre Festival’ in Stuttgart and the ‘ Dance Vision Korea’ Best Dance Artist Prize of Dance Promotion of Korea. She has been invited by numerous festivals around the world including Japan, U.S., Germany, France, Hungary, Cyprus, Venezuela, and several African countries and has taken the lead in promoting Korean dance worldwide.
