Baeksukwangbu Theater Company

Theater company Baeksukwangbu was founded in 1996, by director Sung Youl Lee who claimed for an experimental theater company with young actors. During the early 5 years, the company concentrated on creating theater, de-constructed by means of body movements and improvisation. Good morning Chekhov is the most representative work of this period. Henceforth, the company focused on reconstructing literary texts into a more modern theatre language. The result of their endless effort for more than 10 years is formalized successfully into an unusual and serious stage in which refined realism as well as extreme de-construction exists.
