Nam Jeongho began with Ballet and Korean traditional dance at the age of 10. She started modern dance at Ewha Womans University in Korea. She extended her study in the Sorbonne and the University of RennesⅡ in France and she was a member of Jean Godin dance company in Paris at that time. Since her return to Korea in 1982, she kept on exploring the identity of her own dance, which is now largely understood as deeply rooted in long Korean sentiments and nostalgia andplayful, humorous, full of wit and satire. Nam is professor of Korea National University of Arts and also was invited as a guest choreographer at the Korean National Ballet Theater and also Busan City Dance Company. she received The Best Artist of the Year by Korean Art Critic Association 1999.
