Kim Young-hee, choreographer, professor at the Department of Dance of Ewha Woman s University, and art director of KIM YOUNG-HEE MUTDANCE, has played an instrumental role in promoting the artistic features of Korean dance. The vibrant expressiveness of aesthetic movement characterizing the pioneering choreography of Kim Young-Hee has given traditional Korean dance new dimensions of creativity and originality. KIM YOUNG-HEE MUTDANCE was created in 1994 and steadily grew into a leader of Korean creative dance, mesmerizing audiences at each and every performance. Kim s unique techniques and styles, manifested in such pieces as Revealing Breath, have generated throbbing energy both on and off stage. The resonating artistic movements coloring her works, contemplative and yet full of vitality, have left a lasting impression and enthralled theatergoers worldwide. In 1996, Kim Young-Hee became the recipient of the Ilmin Fellow sponsored by The Dong-A Ilbo newspaper and pursued further training and experience in dance outside of Korea to enrich her artistic expressions to new heights. Especially she became the single Korean choreographer to be invited to and perform at the world-famous Festival International Cervantino Guanajuato - Mexico. As part of her overseas activities, she is scheduled to stage an invitational performance at the Asia Contemporary Dance Festival hosted by the Dance Box Theater in Osaka, Japan from August 9 to 16 in 2004. Moreover, KIM YOUNG-HEE MUTDANCE was selected to perform for the 15th Anniversary Celebration of Korea-ASEAN Dialogue hosted by the Korea Foundation in 2004, and staged performances in Bangkok (Thailand) and Vientiane (Laos) as part of the said ASEAN tour.
