Taroo is an innovative troupe of young artist who have been making an impression on the Korean music scene since 2000. Taroo consists of Pansori singers of Korean instruments, such as the piri flute and gayagum (traditional korean zither). Intheir endeavor to recreate korean traditional music in a contemporary style, the troupe members have performed thirteen works, such as Bab-man-kum-man Sa-rang-hae, in a total of over 30 performances at various venues over the past five years. In each work their performances are emboldened by a youthful energy that allows them to communicate directly with audiences.
