Vinalog

The world music group "Vinalog" is a group of top-notch musicians from various genres who have extended experience in traditional Korean music, that have come together in 2003. The musical goal of Vinalog is to take the unique sensibility of traditional Korean music to create the most universal type of "Korean popular music". Their music is composed of traditional Korean woodwind instruments like the Daegeum, Sogeum and percussions like Janggu, along with Western instruments like drums, base and keyboards. Musically, it is based on utilizing and interpreting traditional Korean beats and folk songs, but also mixing it with various musical elements from acid jazz and electronica, etc. This new type of music ny Vinalog doesn t just places elements together, but actually goes a step further to combine it. Currently, Lee Young-sub who is in charge of the Korean wind instruments and Yang Seung-hwan, in charge of the keyboard and music-writing, form the backbone of the group. These days, they are presenting very different interpretations of their own music as well as pursuing musical experiment to make the brand new music of Vinalog without any limit.
