SORO Performance Unit

SORO means, "The land contains the seed" or "small road". It is intends to question the background to contemporary act activity from the perspective of human activity. In this sense, it is a philosophy that shows the topography of current contemporary art activity. It is attempts to find authenticity and positivity in Korean performance art in relation to culture, society and history. SORO has been involved in performance art as well as various other disciplines of contemporary art, including modern dance, painting, installation art, art therapy, bioscience and video art, on a collaborative basis. SORO Performance Unit has a Total Arts approach, and organizes the Pan Asia Performance Art Net Work. SORO has been researching performance art in Asia through various collaborations and exchanges. SORO Performance Unit runs a studio in the factory area in the city. It has been organizing spaces and practicing art, "nomad-izing" the conflicting areas of Asia as well as the world.
