Beautiful Theater

The slogan of Theater Yonmi has been ‘We are part of the world. We shall perform plays that reflect our nature.’ Theater Yonmi has borrowed its name from the novel of Lee Ok, ‘Moonchae Banjeong Yonmi’. It has taken part in several overseas festivals including AITU in Italy, SITUA in Morocco, Drama Troupe in Japan and the Festival de Besancon in France. It was a participant at the 2007 Milyang Summer Festival of Performance Arts and received the Young Ensemble - Young Stage Artist Award. Theater Yonmi creates works through collaborative efforts of both the staff and actors. It attempts to rediscover the beauty of things that are disappearing in the midst of waves of foreign culture and to lay a bridge between those things and the audience in order to maintain a balance between life and the arts.
