At the beginning of 2000, the Mirage Kaleidoscope was set up by mostly young actors who were joined by playwrights, directors, composers, and stage designers. They started on the premise that ‘everything will start from scratch’ and ‘the objective is not to be confined to a certain ideology or esthetic purpose’. The Mirage Kaleidoscope does not abide by a specific ideology or personal esthetical goal. It aims to investigate human beings and the world through drama and the stage and to open up an arena for common understanding. The humble goal of the Mirage Kaleidoscope is to capture life as a dream much like a mirage, and to portray the multifarious quality of memories that change shape through a kaleidoscope.
