Seoul Ballet Theater

Seoul Ballet Theater was set up in 1995 to create works that reflect and suit the Korean sensibility and to widen the base for dance appreciation. Its performances so far have been remarkable. As a private professional ballet, this is a trend leader in the Korean culture and arts industry, demonstrating original art works utilizing a wide range of choreography, from modern ballet to contemporary ballet, while preserving the tradition of classical ballet based on young passion and experimental spirit. Seoul Ballet Theater presents works renowned for their artistic nature such as 〈Existence 1,2,3〉 (Choreography of the Year at the 1998 Dance Artists Award) and 〈River〉(2005 Arts Award of the Year for Dance). The company has also produced W.A. Mozart’s 〈The Marriage of Figaro〉 as a ballet, providing momentum for further creative works.
