Sagye is a chamber ensemble group of the gayageum performers Cho SooHyun, Song JungMin, Yoo JiYoung and Park SeYoun. All four being well aquainted graduates of Seoul National University, they shared their first group performance experience at the 1998 Korean Zither Musicians Association. It was there that they first experienced a sample of the new range of freedom to be expressed using the gayageum, and in the spirit of a challenge and desire for something new, performed their debut as one year later in December 1999. From hence, they have played at over 50 performances in both Korea and abroad, including participation in various broadcasts, motion picture soundtracks, fashion shows and biennales. They released their debut recording in 2001 and in 2003 received the KBS(Korean Broadcasting System) Traditional Korean Music Grand Prize.
