BIPAF - Busan International Performing Arts Festival- has been grown to the artistic performance festival which represents Busan city, while showing broaden spectrums from classic to streets. It approaches you through the theatres anyone can enjoy, as well as being a festival enjoying the artistic value of the theatre. As the nation’s only themed festival, the Busan International Performing Arts Festival is a representative cultural event in is one of Busan’s major cultural events along with the Busan International Film Festival. It stands apart from its domestic rivals by introducing only carefully selected works from Korea and abroad. Thanks to its diverse programs, such as miniature plays, the festival enjoys popularity with not only among Busan residents but also among domestic and foreign tourists. It also features workshops with domestic and foreign directors to help performance artists with their skills. In 2019, 8 Invitational performances (5 Overseas works, 3 Domestic work), 4 Congratulatory performances (2 Overseas works, 2 Domestic work), 12 Contest works (6 Overseas works, 6 Domestic works) are included.
