Performance Detail
SILENTIUM is the visualization of emotions in its extreme state. Unlike conventional dance performances, SILENTIUM has an unusual condition – darkness. Arrangement of stage lighting is unique as well. Body, the subject matter, is explored with focus on its formative aesthetic than as an element of dance. It provides a new approach to look at body as if it was in a painting. It is a combination of optical illusion used in Optical Art and bodily movements in reality. Lights were positioned unconventionally to manipulate angles and distances, so the subject on stage creates deliberately deformed shapes in light and shade.
