Company Introduction
Art Project BORA is led by Kim Bora, who
has emerged in recent years as Korea’s most spotlighted choreographer. The group has seen significant growth with their performances both at home and abroad such as Japan, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, Slovenia, Germany, Austria, Mexico, Italy, Brasil, Uruguay and etc. Their continuous evolution helped
them build up a repertoire of style and colors that remain unique to themselves. As a dance company, Art Project BORA defies the rigid constraints of logic and concepts, creating a feast of images and senses.
Performance Detail
Somoo is a work on Feminism. Female body as a subject, Somoo adds an element of fantasy through thecollective memory of all the individual dancers with the twist of thechoreographer’s own interpretation. After collecting various images of traditional Asian gestures (such as laying two palms together in front of the chest and bowing), it attempts to configure those movements into a visualization of female genitals. It’s a work to explore the female body. (*Somoo is a one of Korean traditional masks.)
