Company Introduction
Say Sue Me are a surf-inspired indie-rock/pop band from Busan, South Korea. Friends since the 5th grade, Jaeyoung Ha (bass) and Byungkyu Kim (guitar) met ex-drummer Semin Kang at high school and played in a band together until the winter of 2012, when one day they were drinking tea and beer at a tea shop in Nampo-dong, and Sumi Choi (vocals) arrived. They liked her speaking voice and immediately offered her a spot as the vocalist in a new band that would become Say Sue Me. Sumi turned out to be a natural for songwriting. They released sophomore album [Where We were Together], RSD edition [It’s Just A Short Walk!] EP and the 7th single [Just Joking Around/B Lover] in 2018.
Performance Detail
Following well-anticipated showcases at SXSW in 2018, SaySueMe released sophomore album [Where We Were Together] and a Record Store Day special covers EP [It’s Just A Short Walk!] and the [Just Joking Around] single. Their blend of indie rock, dream pop and surf has been widely met with critical acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork, TheFader, Stereogum, NPR, KEXP, i-D, Dazed, ELLE, DIY, BBC6Music’s Lauren Laverne, Gideon Coe and Tom Ravenscroft and many more. In 2018, they had the ’ATTYUUMA’ tour with Otoboke Beaver in the UK, and a solo UK/European tour that ended at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton. And they did a solo UK/European tour again in Autumn.
