Company Introduction
Led by choreographer Jae-deok Kim, young dance company Modern Table ceaselessly communicates with the audience by collaborating openly with diverse genres. Based on contemporary dance, they blur boundaries of genres such as musical, pansori, rock and hip hop. They have drawn attention from audiences and international critics by suggesting fresh ideas and experiments that are unpredictable (e.g. singing dancer and no boundary between the audience’s seats and stage. They interpret popular and cultural sensibility with academic techniques and speed. They also express Koreanness with contemporary language. In this process, they make clear their own colors.
