Jang plays many different roles in serving ""the choreographic.""
As a multi-city based choreographer/performer/dramaturg/curator/educator, Jang
creates site-specific projects that are in conversation with
migration/habitats/co-location. Her projects were presented and supported by
the Arts Council Korea (’09-11, 17), Seoul International Improvisation Festival
(‘17), MODAFE Festival (Korea, ‘16), KAMS Next Step Grant (Korea, ‘16), ARKO
Ocean Arts Research Lab (Korea, ‘15), Danginlee Power Plant Living Lab (Korea,
‘15), Fresh Tracks @ NYLA (US, ‘14-15), Volkshochschule (Switzerland, ‘12),
National Museum of Contemporary Arts (Romania, ‘11), DanceWeb (Austria, ‘11),
Temps d’Image Festival (Romania, ‘11), AIR & MRX @ Movement Research (US,
‘09-11), American Dance Festival (US, ‘08), WUK (Austria,‘08) and University of Bristol (UK, ‘07) among many. Jang’s teaching
credit includes Hollins University (Assistant Professor of Dance, ‘11-‘14),
American Dance Festival (Faculty, ‘09-‘10&’13), Dance New Amsterdam (Modern
Guest Artist, ‘10-‘11), Movement Research (Faculty, ‘11), and many other guest
teaching occasions at universities/festivals/performing arts high schools in
US, Mexico and Korea. As an artistic advisor, Jang has worked with Korea
National Contemporary Dance Company (Advisory Committee/Master
Lecturer/Curator/Dramaturg, ‘16), James Counsins Company (Dramaturg, ‘16), Seoul Dance Center (Selection Panel/Advisory Committee,
‘15-17), New York Foundation for the Arts (Mentor, ‘14) among others.
