Company Introduction
Ambiguous Dance Company was founded in 2008 by Bo-ram Kim and Kyung-min Jang. The comapny’s name means that its members performs
ambiguous dances that cannot be defined in one word. In other words, they free themselves from specific dance genres and concepts to express what is in their hearts with their bodies and music. Rather than conveying certain artistic messages or meanings, they believe that expression of music and dance through the body can form the most accurate and sincere language. So they are willing to tell the importance of essence and purity.
Performance Detail
There is a specific rhythm in the relationship between the body and dance. Each of us also has his or her own rhythm but we just don’t feel it. This performance expresses modern people’s sorrowful life of losing their rhythm in a big framework called ‘society’; they are forced to live to the rhythm of this world. Humans belong to society from the moment of their birth and they compete with each other to survive in it! In this way, we are obliged to learn the existing, systematized rhythm, rather than finding our own rhythm. Nevertheless, we ceaselessly strive to pursue our natural rhythm. That is who we humans are.
