Announcement of selected artists for 2011 Project Development Initiative
The 2nd year of Project Development Initiative has been hosted by The Office for Hub City of Asian Culture in Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue to build collaborative relationship with wide range of national and international artists, and to prepare an artistic and creative environment for the ACC’s opening in 2014 and its succeeding paths.
Collaboration Indonesia Thailand Artist by Mugidance, Indonesia
A collaborative work between music, song and dance of contemporary Lanna (Traditional North Thai) and music, puppet, song and dance of contemporary Javanese.
Oh, Face 2012 by Potudo-ru, Japan
A theatre work on the “beauty of ugliness of faces” which focuses on the relation between faces and society, and undergoing emotional conflicts.
Typological Archive Project–Tradition/Hundai by Sungmin HONG, Korea
A performance project and sociological research into traditional and modern aesthetics in Gwangju area, exploiting the sociological documenting tool of typological archiving.
These three selected project will have co-sketch and pitch session in Gwangju from August 28th to September 3rd to further develop their initial idea through collaborative workshop.
Asian Arts Theatre will continue to seek to gain exposure to new ideas and explore various artistic and cultural tendencies to contribute to the transformative environment through these initiatives that create, produce and encourage international exchanges.
The Office for Hub City of Asian Culture in Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism would like to thank all the artists and groups who have took part in the Asian Arts Theatre’s 2011 Project Development Initiative and hope to continue building collaborative relationship with all the artists who have applied for this initiative and beyond through Asian Arts Theatre’s upcoming new projects.
