Space plays a key role not only in supporting artists’ creative activities, but also in bridging the artists and the local community. With this observation, the Hooyong Performing Arts Centre aims to support artists and their works to grow and develop in an organic relation with the local community.
The Centre has a resident performing company, Nottle, and runs several programs. In its artist-in-residency program, a number of artists from various countries around the world take part each year, while its International Workshop Festival links artists of different experiences and practices. The Centre also runs arts education and workshop program for the local community and the artists to meet together.
