About performance
They talk about their different experiences in this time of coronavirus. Sae-rom argued with her mother who told her not to go to the funeral of her close friend’s mother, and Seo-han self-quarantined after a confirmed patient visited the store where he is working part-time. Somebody brings a photo of a joint wedding held with masks on. They are talking and laughing as if these are someone else’s stories, but in fact they are nervous. People are promoting the advantages of ’untact’ and predicting a new way of life - what should we the theatre people do? We’ve gathered solely out of the desire to meet one another, but time goes by, without us quite knowing what to do.

Synopsis
Nobody tells me why we need to go through this
What on earth has come to us?
During the preparations for a performance, coronavirus causes the situation of a pandemic. Rehearsal rooms are closed temporarily, with shows being postponed indefinitely. It is impossible to predict if it is possible to do theatre while practicing social distancing, or what human encounters should look like from now on. The desire to meet, however, becomes more and more evident.

What can be dreamed in lockdown?
How can we, who practice theatre, meet one another?

Production Details

  • Director
    Zin-a Choi
Director who experiments theatre art, reading relevant issues with curiosity and provocation

Zin-a Choi began to earn recognition in the theatre scene when she founded Theatre Company Nolddang and wrote and directed her own works. If her initial focus was, dealing with romantic relationships, women as existential agents or agents of desire as well as their uncertainties, she is now expanding the horizon of her theatrical world, making bolder attempts to dramatically suggest her investigation on human relations, experience and awareness of travelers, or her reflections on physical objects or perceptual experience itself.
