About performance

The actor doesn’t get to see the script until (s)he is on stage. (S)he goes on stage without knowing the show, gets handed the script by a staff member and sees it ‘for the first time.’ The unprepared performer who could not be prepared becomes the medium that connects the author and audience in an improvised way. The audience becomes an active agent to take part in the play with the actor/actress.

This piece lets us experience the vivid aspects of theatre, by humorously depicting the interaction between author, actor and audience and at the same time questioning the society we live in, politics and aspects of humanity. White Rabbit Red Rabbit is presented in Korea for the first time by SPAF, after sensational performances in 32 countries including the UK, Canada, Germany, the US, Australia and Sweden. Performed by a group of actors varying in age, gender and personality, each show will bring a different experience. Improvised one-person play by Korea’s leading actors, Sook Sohn, Ho-jae Lee, Su-jung Ye, Sung-kwang Ha, So-hee Kim and Sang-kyu Sohn, will bring out the formerly unseen strengths of these actors as well as the essence of theatre.

Format

- 48 hours before the performance, the actor or actress receives the instructions about the play for the first time. The script is handed once (s)he is on stage.

- The performance proceeds as the performer carries out the instructions in the script, from which the author in Iran begins to meet the audience, through the performer, beyond time and space.
