Young b-boying groups from Korea including Fusion MC, Gamblerz Crew and Jinjo Crew are gaining international recognition and leading the Korean Wave, boasting artistic level while speaking to the public at the same time. By merging their internationally acclaimed techniques and dynamic performance of street dance with state-of-the-art technology such as hologram, laser art and 3D media, the piece tries to suggest a new paradigm of stage performance with a strong potential of storytelling beyond any street or stage performance.
Synopsis
<B-boy Fiction ‘Codename 815’> tells an autobiographical story based on a touching series of true events. Known as ‘genius b-boy,’ 18-year-old Jung-soo(Krops) had an unimaginable accident while preparing for the World B-boying Contest, resulting in full-body paralysis that would leave him unable to move for the rest of his life. An 18-year-old boy with many dreams could not deal with this reality never gave up and picked himself up like a miracle. Still uncomfortable to move and unable to dance, Jung-soo is to be sent, with the help of virtual reality, to the future of advanced medical technology to restore his lost ‘dreams’...

Jung-woo Hwang
Director and choreographer, Jung-woo Hwang is a dancer who has built a unique foundation that is unrivaled in the field of flexible b-boying, where excellence in flexibility, creativity and contemporary movements are a necessity. He is constantly working to create new movements based on his thorough investigation and reflection on the form that is in decline. He supervised choreography for the Korean team that won the Best Performance at ‘2015 R16 World B-Boy Championships,’ and received ‘Young Hip-Hop Award’ from ‘2017 Korea Hip-Hop Awards.’ Over the course of his career, Hwang has won over 20 international competitions and has been a juror more than 10 times in many countries including France, Taiwan, China, and Japan.
