Object-Based Performance
Synopsis
“Ten Years Please” is an object-oriented performance using objects as main actors. In 2007, Jewyo Rhii had an exhibition called “Ten Years, Please”, where the artist entrusted her works from the past to the individual who was willing to take care of them for the next ten years. Ten years later, in 2017, the artist brings back those works to the public space in a theater, facing the thickness of the time accumulated on the artworks while they were away. The fragile artworks, which may have been forgotten or neglected in the corner of personal space, or which may have been treated as special things, now emerge beautifully as objects of time, which still stands on their way.
