Major world performing arts festivals and markets are being attacted to the content potential and market in Asia, including the World Music Expo in 2010 and Edinburgh International Festival in 2011. With global economic crisis leading to budget cuts in performing arts-related areas, the need for international collaborations has been highlighted for economic reasons. In the session, professionals who have recently been involved in Asia-related programming, plan to spotlight Asia in the future, or have continuously engaged in Asia-related work will gather to share their reasons for focusing on Asia and their experiences, with an opportunity for free questioning of panel members and presenters on areas of interest within Asia.
